World Read Aloud Day!

Rendered Image

On Wednesday 4th of March, the Cybrary leaders (Kathleen, Amy and Meg) hosted a school-wide celebration for World Read Aloud day. To celebrate, they asked that the girls come to school dressed as their favourite book character, and brought a book to share with their buddy.

At 8:30, the Cybrary leaders held a special assembly in the Cybrary because we are in New Zealand, and our school starts at 8:30am, (unlike most other schools) we were probably the first school in the world to celebrate World Read Aloud Day! During the assembly, we managed to get the entire school to read a book aloud to their buddies! We read “Hattie and the Fox” by Mem Fox.

There were lots of creative, colourful and interesting costumes. All the girls participated in this day. And some teachers did too!

  2. The costumes are lovely. At my last school, we didn't dress up like this.
